MENLO PARK, CA (CelebrityAccess) – The historic Guild Theater in Menlo Park has just completed its conversion to a live events venue and has announced plans to open to the public on January 18 with a performance of the band from indie rock based in OR STRFKR.
Once the theater is operational, it will host an ongoing series of live entertainment events, comprising multiple genres of music and featuring new and established artists.
“We are delighted to see the project finally come to fruition,” said Peninsula Arts Guild President Drew Dunlevie. “We started the association four years ago for the simple purpose of bringing entertainment and culture to a very underserved market here on the peninsula. We are also very eager to support the philanthropic efforts of many artists. We like to say that we solve for fun and good.
Located at 949 El Camino Real in Menlo Park, Calif., The theater, which opened in 1926 as one of the area’s first cinemas, has survived as a one-screen arthouse cinema until in 2019, when it was purchased by investors for redevelopment into a non-profit concert hall.

The operations team includes General Manager Tom Bailey, who was previously General Manager of the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, New York.

As part of the planning for the opening, the Guild has entered into an agreement with the Dice music discovery and ticketing platform.
“DICE is thrilled to partner with the Guild Theater, which is fast becoming an incredible live event space in Menlo Park,” said Russ Tannen, President of DICE. “Viewing a show at The Guild will always be a transparent and fair process for the fan and the artist.”
