San Antonio opens a new concert hall with the show Smashing Pumpkins

The new venue has a slew of performers lined up for fall and summer

San Antonio’s newest concert venue, Tech Port Arena, has hosted a few events before, the state of the city for one, but the arena first teased a slew of shows that pack in every genre. On the night of Monday, May 2, ’90s alternative rock christened the scene with the Smashing Pumpkins fronting Billy Corgan rocking the San Antonio crowd.

The Grammy Award-winning band are just the first to perform in the newly unveiled venue, but Tech Port Arena has more in store with Carla Morisson on May 21, Papa Roach on May 26, Boyz II Men on August 12 and Julieta Venegas on October 14.

Here’s what you missed on opening night.
