Saint City Supper Club Partners with San Antonio Event Venue The Espee for Year-Round Dinner Series | Flavor | San Antonio

  • The Saint City Culinary Foundation’s first Espee dinner will highlight the cuisine of chef Juan Carlos Bazan of Cuishe Cocina Mexicana.

The local non-profit Saint City Culinary foundation has re-launched its monthly Supper Club dinner series through a new partnership with The Espee, the event venue east of downtown formerly known as Sunset Station.

The first dinner of the series – a collaboration on Thursday, November 18 between the foundation, The Espee and the historic district of St. Paul’s Square – will highlight the cuisine of chef Juan Carlos Bazan of the Gusto group. Bazan outfit, which operates local restaurants Cuishe Cocina Mexicana and Toro Kitchen + Bar, will provide meals, while Illegal Mezcal will provide alcohol supplies.

The November 18 event kicks off the relaunch of the Saint City Supper Club series, which raises funds for HEARD, a non-profit organization focused on providing mental health and telehealth services to workers catering. Due to the pandemic, recent fundraising events for the foundation have been rare.

Saint City’s most recent fundraiser was its April battle for Crawfish Boil, which pitted restaurateur Chad Carey, chef James Canter and longtime epicurean and COO of the Saint City Culinary Foundation Hugh Daschbach for the coveted title of Crawfish King.

The rejuvenated Saint City Supper Club will host 12 monthly dinners at the Espee. The multi-building entertainment site operated as Sunset Station until a recent rebranding, which included renovations to interior spaces and the imminent opening of the chic 1902 Gatsby-esque nightclub at The Espee. .

Tickets for the November 18 dinner are on sale now. The price of $ 75 per person includes all food and beverages for the duration of the event.
