Work is underway on a new event location in Italian Village. A recently vacant building just north of Columbus Electrical Works at 777 N. Fourth St. will find new life under the Edison name.
This is the latest addition to the portfolio of BTTS Holdings, which also operates Brookshire at Lewis Center, WatersEdge at Hilliard, The Estate in New Albany and the all new FIG Hall in Short North.
An industrial building constructed in the early 1900s, BTTS aims to maintain the historic charm of the building through exposed brickwork, high ceilings and arched windows. The space will also include a bespoke built-in bar with a reclaimed wood bar facade, as well as a new mezzanine at the front of the building. A grassy area to the north of the site will be transformed into an outdoor courtyard.
“Edison will combine a modern, urban vibe with the same first-class event experience that we offer across the entire BTTS family of venues,” said John A. Brooks, Managing Partner, BTTS Holdings. “We immediately saw the potential of this space to create unforgettable and magnificent events and we are delighted to join the rich fabric of the neighborhood, as part of the latest Lykens Companies project. “
Lykens Companies purchased the Electrical Works buildings in 2015 and received Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits for Development in 2018. This is one of many projects developed by Lykens Companies along from the fourth street corridor through the Italian village.
BTTS is targeting an opening in June 2021 for Edison. The place can accommodate up to 200 people, or 175 with a dance floor. They will target not only weddings, but also other events such as company outings, baby shower and baby shower, non-profit galas and more.
“Edison’s intimate size, natural light and warm design will welcome you and your guests.” said Lisa Sullivan, director of the place. “One of the best parts of our job as an event operator is helping clients celebrate life’s most treasured events, and we look forward to doing that at Edison.”
