Nottingham’s party venue Bistro Live confirms reopening date and promises ‘a different but great night’

Party-goers who frequent a late-night live music restaurant will be able to celebrate Christmas with a difference – starting earlier in the day.

The owners of Bistro Live promise to do everything possible despite the government’s “lack of support and clarity”.

Mark Henderson, Director of Bistro Live, said: “Almost all of the nightlife venues have had no income since March, and while the time off program has helped us, we now have to use our reserves to pay our employees and keep us going. business afloat.

“Since March, we have had to deal with constantly changing rules and regulations, a full lockdown for four months, only two households, no live entertainment and no dancing until mid-September, the rule of six most recently. , and to top it all off, outside the 10 p.m. curfew.

“And how the new employment support program with companies paying a staff member 55% of their salary (the government supplementing them up to 77%) to work 33% of their regular hours is going to help companies to to recover is beyond me. . “

Despite all of this, Bistro Live is still determined to reopen on November 6, promising a great night out.

“It may be different from a regular Bistro Live night, but it will give us the opportunity to present something a little different,” they said.

The venue, at Barker Gate, will open at 6:30 p.m. and run until 10 p.m., with an array of solo artists and duets booked for the holiday season.

A celebration of the previous year at Bistro Live – it will be different this year

Bistro Live manager Fred Harlow said: “We’ve been working really hard over the past few weeks to come up with some brand new ideas, to make sure we can operate in a safe but fun way, social but distant, and to get the place ready for reopening.

“The feedback we have received so far from our customers has been very encouraging, so until the government changes the goalposts again, we look forward to reopening the business and doing what we are doing. the best – great food, great entertainment and a great night out. ”
