Something for the Weekend: The Morrisons supermarket chain is opening its doors to employers who, while under budget, want to give employees a Christmas party with all the trimmings this year.
Morrisons Cafes will give cash-strapped employers the opportunity to offer staff a traditional Christmas dinner for £ 6.50 per person for a two-course meal and £ 7.50 for three-course.
The sumptuous dinner menu includes traditional delicacies such as turkey, roasted potatoes and stuffing, followed by Christmas pudding and custard; vegans and vegetarians are not forgotten, as there is a mushroom wellington with all the sides on offer.
Large organizations will need to rethink their last minute plans, however, as the Morrisons Christmas Meal Deal is only for parties of up to 20 people.
The supermarket chain started the initiative because it wanted to offer a solution to small businesses who fear wasting money during the holiday season, due to the uncertainty of the current economic climate.
It’s never too late to start the party, as Christmas party tables can be booked until December 23, 2019.
Helen Tordoff, Coffee Shop Manager at Morrisons, said: “Some small businesses have had a tough year. So we’ve created the best Christmas dinner for those on a budget. And since our cafes regularly host group meetings, we thought about extending the invitation to locals. [employers] so they can save some Christmas costs. This will mean more people can get into the party spirit without breaking the bank. “
At Employee Benefits, we wonder if it would be helpful if the media were invited to sample all of the desserts on offer? It’s Christmas, after all …
