After all, it might not be necessary to travel to Berlin to line up at Berghain with the exciting news that Melbourne is about to have another warehouse space to party.
The promoters of dance music Novel have set up an event space which will be dubbed the Thornbury Social Club and it is a blast from the past. With the remnants of its past as an abandoned sports complex, the space offers a multi-room space, including squash courts and an extravagant ballroom for where we imagine the headliner.
About the new location, novel director Daniel Teuma explains;
“A great attraction with this new place lies in the possibilities that exist to configure the rooms and the overall space in a musical and exploratory adventure. Late venues alcohol licensing is also a feature very rarely found in larger venues, and it allows events to continue until 5 a.m. We will turn this unused space into a technology-fueled wonderland, and we are investing heavily in production and infrastructure to ensure the best possible customer experience.
After testing a few events there now, Novel has detailed the next events scheduled for September and December with some top performers to be announced! In the meantime, enjoy the location preview below.
